Kerrang! Magazine

These magazines are all made by the producer Kerrang!. This is a music magazine which fits into the more metal / rocky music genre and category of magazines. They tell you about the latest news that has came out last week from the top music brands such as the guitar manufactureres, Gibson and Fender etc. or about the hot news of the world's biggest rock bands or even new bands that are on the rise.

All of these magazine covers consist of people who are a significant role model in the music industry. The first being David Grohl of Foo Fighters, which is the big band that is globally known for songs such as Moneky Wrench or Everlong. The interview is about David Grohl and 'How he got his Groove back' and how he picked the guitar up to form the band Foo Fighters after being the drummer of the grunge band, Nirvana. The fact they have included Foo Fighters in big white letters on a black background, on top of the image of Grohl on a red background, will instantly catch a readers eye but also will be a selling point as the Foo Fighters are one of the world's best rock and roll bands.

The second two magazines both consist of the people looking straight at the reader, having their eyes follow you when you go past the stall where the mag is, basically manipulating and almost bringing that pressure to buy the magazine. As well as being well known, with Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan and the popular American rock band, Green day being on the covers, it will instantly being attraction and is another selling point as they are widely known world wide. The fact that we can see Duff putting the middle finger up shows that rocker attitude GNR brought back in the 80s and 90s, with their lead singer Axl Rose leading the line, connects well with the phrase 'Future of Guns N Roses', which people will take a read, as it is a big mystery of what they will do after a big long tour.

With all magazines, we can see that the masthead of the magazine, 'Kerrang!' is covered by the main image of the magazine, of the people. This shows that Kerrang are a really big and popluar magazine and that they don't need their name to sell the mags but what is consisted inside them and what articles they cover. All magazines also consist of the other articles or parts that are included in the actual magazines, giving the reader a little preview of what else that issue offers to them. Again, the magazines are similar as each one offers a different style of poster(s) that comes with that mag, with the Green Day having 'Smashing Pumkins', Duff having 'Live Chaos' and Foo Fighters having 'Rocks's best posters'.
