Magazine Creation - Music - LiveGUITAR

For the creation of the magazine we have been asked to do, we had the choice of a lifestyle magazine or music. With being a guitar player myself and having a huge interest in the rock and roll world, I decided to do music as it would be a lot easier for me to do and understand.  I chose the masthead name of Live Guitar, simply because the target audience is for those individuals who enjoy the guitar music industry and those who live through their passion for guitars with the way they look, sound, play and who plays them. I can say this from personal experience from myself.  MY OWN PICTURES: We had to produce the magazine 100% on our own. That meant no teaming up and no images from anywhere else apart from the ones we have taken ourselves as homework. As this was a music magazine focusing on the topic of guitars, it was very useful that I had my own guitars on my wall at home. The guitar featured in an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro, which is one the highest range...

Text Wraps

With this Text wraps, we practiced this as it would be useful for the magazines and newspapers we will be creating. I done this by getting the Lorem Ipsum generated text in a text box, and getting different images, PNG with no background, and adding them in. From here, you click the layer of the image, select 'Widow' and select Text wrap. From here, we can adjust the gaps from

Double Page Spread

Original Newspaper Double Page Spread Thumbnail Layout  Here I made a double page spread of a magazine. I done this in both Indesign and Photoshop. I made a thumbnail to guide my designs but also took the inspiration from the newspaper its self. I also used text wraps which we have used in previous lessons. This brings the text, which is Lorem Ipsum in this case, around the pictures.

Resolutions

Coloured Resolution   Black and White Resolution These are pictures which we had to adjust the resolution of. We went from 5 DPI all the way to 300 DPI. This shows the change of quality each DPI size has. I used both Photoshop and Indesign for this process.
This magazine aims around the teen to early twenties age range. It is weekly. It also connotes to the average working class background family with average income and people who want better for themselves. This magazine relates to teens as it says 'bullied teen' in the bottom right corner, which could inspire other people in that situation to come out stronger. It also says 'From broke to billions' which could be the same as pretty much as everyone else as the average reader of this would not be from the very wealthy upbringing or background. The fact their is a young, attractive girl on the front would make the average viewer of girls feel better about themselves or possibly strive them to be like that and look like them.   This magazine would again aim towards the early twenties / late teens age range. This magazine is a monthly one, so it fits in what has happened in the fashion and beauty industry in the last month and what is coming up in the upcomin...

UK Broadsheets

The broadsheets are the newspaper in which you will mostly find the older people/ business people/ 'posher' people of society read. They include more in depth articles on what is going on in the world or country. Compared to the tabloid papers, these broadsheets double in size as when folded , A2, but when open, A1.  Broadsheets are however in some way similar. This is because they both include games such as cross words and Sodukus and even adverts, where many companies can advertise there company.
