The product originated in May 2010 with the first game of Red Dead to come out to the public on consoles. The advert would have been made by Rockstar with the facilities that they have in store already.

Rockstar games make this game.This is the comapny that also create the globally popular game, Grand Theft Auto series. They are known for the open world games that gamers can do anything from earning money to robbing banks to committing the most serious of crimes, hence why they are all 18 rated - or M for Mature in the US.

All of these adverts for Red Dead Redemption 2, where released in the years of 2017/ 18 /19 and are still advertised today as it is Rockstar's newest game they have out today. 
  1. Advertising company who made the advert
As Rockstar are the people who made the video game, they made the advert as well. This means it was made internally. The cut scenes of the game would have been put together to create a montage of the video game to promote what the game play, graphics and story line brings to the gamers who would play it. 
  1. Cost of the advert
The cost of the video game came to $944 Million. As the advert is made internally, it would not cost a lot of money to create, so probably around the $500,000 to $2,000,000 mark, with all of the editing and hiring they have to pursue. It would possibly be even more as there are numerous of adverts for numerous of other hardwares the game can be played on such as Xbox, Playstation and PC. 
The fact there are also printed adverts such as the billboards, posters and vinyl livery would also cost money to be shown and even created.

  1. Theme of advert
The theme of the advert was to advertise a game. The game is a wild western game and it was to promote the western style lifestyle which you can live through the course of the game. 
  1. Star or Celebrity endorsing advert - why are they used?
There is not a celebrity that officially endorsed this, however there are many Youtubers with millions of subscribers and views from around the world, such as MrBossFTW, Outlaw Gary, Typical Gamer and so much more. This would promote this game so much as it is being viewed by these channels fans, leading them to want to purchase the game and play it. 
  1. Audio in advert - why was it used?
The audio used Non-Digetic audio with the Wild Western themes music that runs over the music. This sets the theme of the whole game and gives the brutality that the associates with the game due to the nature of the company and the games they produce, but also because the Wild Western times are known to be one of the most brutal times the world has ever seen. 
More music that we hear, especially in the trailer, is soft by using different instruments like violins and guitars, bringing that western feel to the player and viewer. 
There is also Digetic sounds. This is from the cut scenes that we see the characters say throughout the trailer, which we also hear throughout the whole of the game to generate the story. 
  1. Analyse advert - did each one work?
Each advert that came out for the different platforms and both the 2010 and 2018 games, I believe they work in the advertisement and promotion. This is due to my personal experience of seeing the adverts around the areas where I live and the City Centre everywhere I went, along with the trailers I seen on Youtube before the videos I watched. 
There is proof that the advertising campaign was successful because the game had over 23 Million copies sold and gained a whopping $1.25 Billion back in revenue from the sales.
